The Mesa Dental Difference – What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a system of clear aligners designed specifically for your teeth by Dr. Qadeer, a specially trained Invisalign dentist. Considering the aligners are made custom to your teeth, they will not be bulky and are nearly invisible. For anyone concerned with the issues associated with traditional metal braces, including the look and feel, Invisalign braces may be for you.
This 2 Minute Video Will Explain How Invisalign Works!
What Do Invisalign Braces Do?
Many of us have been looking for a way to have beautiful straight smiles, without having to wear bulky metal braces. Not until recently with the emergence of Invisalign invisible braces had there been much progress – but now having a beautiful smile, without metal braces, is finally a reality for everyone.
Invisalign braces work great for people who never had their teeth aligned as a child, or maybe had braces as they were growing up and now notice their teeth starting to shift or crowd.
How Does Invisalign Work?
Invisalign works by using a series of clear, comfortable and nearly invisible aligners, custom made for patients to wear for 2 weeks at a time before switching to a new set. The number of aligners needed will be determined by the amount of movement required to create your ideal smile.
On average, most patients need 9-12 months wearing the Invisalign braces, and in a high number of cases people finish in the 6-9 month range. Considering most traditional braces take 18-24 months, this is a huge improvement. We expect patients to return to the office typically once every 6 weeks for a progress check, and to receive the next set of aligners. Progress check visits normally take less than 15 minutes, which fits conveniently into the busiest of schedules.
Invisalign braces have the ability to accurately move individual teeth in a computer enhanced sequence, allowing them to often work faster than traditional braces (usually 30-40% less time). Invisalign braces can also be used to place your teeth in a more ideal location for use with porcelain crowns or dental crowns. This a wonderful advantage because your new smile can now be created using fewer veneers -decreasing your overall investment and increasing the life span of the veneers.
After your Invisalign treatment is complete, you will receive a set of custom retainers, allowing you to maintain your beautiful new smile over time. At Mesa Dental, these custom retainers are included in your fee at no additional charge.
